Compare health insurance companies

Educational only — not a quote, not a recommendation. This site is not an insurer or a broker, and nothing on this page is a personalised price. A final price comes only from the carrier or a licensed agent, after underwriting. Health cover, compared side by side across ACA Marketplace, Medicare and related plans. Premiums, deductibles, networks and tiers are ZIP, county and plan specific, so no national premium table is published here — the table shows what each carrier publishes, where it is available, and where to shop officially.

How to read “Not published”: it means the 2026-11-05 research did not verify that item on a carrier or official page. It is not a zero, not a “no”, and it is never filled in from a third-party table. Where a figure is published, its profile, date and source sit next to it.

How to use this comparison

  1. Pick 2 or 3 companies with the checkboxes below the table heading, and compare them side by side.
  2. Compare like for like: the same limits, the same deductible, the same cover type. A cheaper headline with a lower limit is not the same cover.
  3. Check the official link in the row before you decide — the carrier's own page and plan documents are the final word, and availability varies by state, county and plan.
  4. Use the tools beside this page to work out what you need first, then take that need to the official quote. No personal details are collected anywhere on this page.

Cigna's 2027 exit figure (about 369,000 members affected) comes from trade press, April to October 2026, and is labelled as such in the table.

Every figure and feature above comes from the carrier page linked in its row, as recorded in the research register on 2026-11-05. “Not published” means the research did not verify that item on a carrier or official page — it is not a zero, and it is not filled in from a third party.

Eligibility and footprint warnings

  • ACA individual and family plans cover essential benefits and cannot deny enrolment for pre-existing conditions. ACA open enrolment generally runs 1 November to 15 January in most states.
  • UnitedHealthcare is NOT nationwide for individual ACA plans — availability varies by state, county and year.
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield is not one national company: independent, locally operated companies each serve a specific area, so a shopper must use the Find My Plan finder by ZIP.
  • Kaiser Permanente is limited to California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington plus DC, with county carve-outs in Washington and Oregon.
  • Aetna left the ACA marketplaces effective 1 January 2026 (individual/family ACA exchange plans ended 31 December 2025). Do not treat Aetna as a current ACA Marketplace option without a live re-check.
  • Cigna will not offer individual/family plans in any state for 2027. Do not treat Cigna as a 2027 ACA option.
  • Humana is presented here as a Medicare carrier, not as a general ACA carrier, and Medicare requires Original Medicare Parts A and B eligibility.

What this page is not: it is not a quote engine, it does not collect personal data, it does not rank companies as “best” or “cheapest”, and it carries no star ratings, testimonials or carrier logos. Any page that claims a single “best” company from this table is misreading it.
