Condo insurance by state/city

Read this first — the boundary travels with you

Georgia

Miami Beach

Texas

What to compare across all three places

Compare the same five items wherever the unit sits: master-policy type and what it covers inside the unit; walls-in limit against the interior as renovated; belongings limit against a counted inventory; liability limit; and loss-assessment cover. Then add the local item: flood separation on the coast, wind or hail treatment inland, and condo-hotel status in Miami Beach. A quote that is cheaper because it omits one of those items is not a better quote. Finally, re-check after any renovation or association assessment change, because both events move the boundary the HO-6 must cover.

Links back to the checker

This page explains place; the condo checker page in this cluster does the work. Run the checker with your building's master-policy type and renovation history, and bring its gap checklist to the association documents and then to an agent. The checker tool, condo-checker.html, sits alongside this page in the same folder and follows the same boundary logic, so the two pages reinforce rather than contradict each other.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE — not a policy fact

An illustrative buyer compares two hypothetical units: one inland Georgia unit in an older building, and one coastal Miami Beach unit in a newer building. On paper both need an HO-6, but the illustrative checklists differ — the coastal unit's checklist adds a separate flood conversation and a wind-exposure question, while the older inland unit's checklist adds a building-age and renovation question. No premium, limit or recommendation follows from the example. Its point is that the same policy form, HO-6, produces different checklists in different places, and a buyer who copies one city's checklist into another city has not finished the work.
